Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain an amplifier of high efficiency with a low voltage power supply by connecting a bias circuit, which applies an AC bias with a constant current or DC bias with a constant voltage, to the base of complementary transistors Tr with collectors connected mutually for output terminals. CONSTITUTION:Transistors TrQ11 and TrQ12 are of the PNP type, and Trs Q13 and Q14 are of the NPN type; collectors of both Trs Q12 and Q14 are connected in common and then connected to speaker SP by way of capacitor C. A circuit composed of TrQ11, capacitor C1 and resistance R2 and that of TrQ13, capacitor C2 and resistance R4 are bias circuits which can be considered AC constant-current sources or DC constant power supplies. Those bias circuits equalize the largest output voltage to a value obtained by subtracting emitter-collector saturating voltage of TrQ12 and Q14 from the power voltage and a voltage use ratio is about 97%, so that efficient amplification can be attained even in case of a low-voltage power supply.
