Abstract
PURPOSE: To reduce the size of a pressure controller, by controlling, steplessly and continuously, the pressure of fluid with a large flow rate by using weak electromagnetic force.
CONSTITUTION: In terms of the balance of the force of a pilot diaphragm 25, F=P2.Sd+P3.Sv, where F is the force of electromagnetic force added with empty weights of plunger 28 and push rod 29; Sd is the effective pressure receiving area; Sv is the area of pilot valve seat; P2 is the pressure in the secondary pressure chamber B and P3 is the pressure in the tertiary pressure chamber C. As for the balance of the force of main diaphragm 15, P3.Sd+P2.Sv=P2.Sd+P1.Sv+fs where fs is the force of a spring 20, and accordingly P3=P2+fs/Sd and then F=P2.Sd. In other words, the electromagnetic force required for controlling pressure is determined by the area of pilot diaphragm 25 and the secondary pressure of fluid and irrelevant to the area of main diaphragm 15. This means that weak electromagnetic force can control the fluid pressure and the pressure controller itself can be compactized.
