Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the selectivity of the spring constant by fitting the spring member between the washer and the retainer fixed on the push-screw shaft.
CONSTITUTION: When the engine is started, the rotating speed increases, and the centrifugal clutch 22 is connected, torque is applied to the output shaft 26. Then, the housing 37 is also rotated but the thrust wheel 13 stays still, so that the push- screw 40 is pushed backward by the action of twisting spline. This pushing force compresses the coil spring 48 through the washer 45. The torque change is absorbed by the compression of the coil spring 48 in the same way. As the torque change is thus absorbed by the deformation of the spring member by shifting, the spring constant can be freely changed, and the selectivity of the spring constant becomes greater.
