Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent a crank shaft of engine from excessive torque being acted by the mass of a rotary member of generator at the time of rapid acceleration and deceleration, by coupling the rotary member to the crank shaft by the intermediary of sliding clutch.
CONSTITUTION: Crank shaft 1 is supported in crank case 3 in freely rotatable manner by means of bearing 2, and retainer metal 4 is fixed to one end of the crank shaft 1 by means of bolt 5. Outer member 7 of one-way coupling 6 is connected to the inside of retainer metal 4 by means of rivet 8, whereas its inner member 9 is supported on crank shaft 1 in freely rotatable manner and is formed with starter gear 10. Here, in order to constitute a sliding clutch, support metal 12 formed on the inside of rotary member 11 is inserted into the sleeve portion of retainer metal 4 in freely rotatable manner until inner end face 13 of support metal 12 comes in contact with the outer surface 14 of retainer metal 4. At the same time, the support metal 12 is pressed onto the outer surface 14 of retainer metal 4 by means of an disk spring 15 placed in between bolt 5.
