Abstract

The coupling comprises a central driving shaft on which a driving member turns freely. A spiral spring couples the member to a drum enclosing the shaft, and part of the spring passes round the shaft. Devices acting on the drum reduce its rotational speed in relation to the member when running, and bring the spring into contact with the driving shaft. A spring-loaded locking ring is mounted on the shaft, and works against a thrust bearing so as to take up the axial clearance between the components round the shaft.
