Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain excellent connection together with reliable fixing by using a connecting device composed of insulator-covered copper conductor and solder both placed in groove made in spool when connecting two superconductive coils or connecting super-conductive coil with current lead. CONSTITUTION:U-Shaped connecting copper plate 6 covered with insulator 7 is inserted with its opening up into the groove 5 for connection made in coil spool 9, and superconductive wires 1a and 1b are pushed, along with each other, into the opening to be connected from the direction of longer axis of groove 5. Then solder 8 is placed on wires 1a and 1b surrounded by copper plate 6, and melted by heat to connect wires 1a and 1b, while on the opening of the groove is placed insulator 10 and then weight board 11, which are fixed to spool 9 by means of screws 12. By this further adjustment becomes unnecessary only except for matching wires 1a and 1b with each other, while solder melted fully into the place makes excellent connection.
