Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce magnetic force acting on a lead wire thus facilitating easy support by providing the lead wire in the direction that corresponds to a line of magnetic in the direction that corresponds to a line of magnetic force generated from a superconductive magnet. CONSTITUTION:The orientation of a lead wire 6 corresponds or approximately corresponds to a magnetic flux line 2. Therefore, the magnetic force dF acting on a small fraction dl of the lead wire 6 is given as dF = IBdl sin theta/9.8, where theta is an angle between the current 71 flowing in the lead wire 6 and the magnetic flux line 2B. While sin theta is almost nil; consequently, magnetic force acting on the lead wire also becomes almost nil, thus only the selfweight is considered for mechanical support. That enables to introduce a compricate system to cool off the lead wire 6. It also increases riliability remarkablly because an electrical contact of the lead wire 6 due to magnetic force does not exist. This device can incorporate a simple mechanical support thus heat transfer loss is small.
