Abstract
PURPOSE: To avoid generation of partial discharge by providing an electric-field reducing layer having voltage-nonlinear resistance characteristics on the insulating layer for at least one winding of the primary winding and the secondary winding which constitute a transformer.
CONSTITUTION: The primary winding 2 and the secondary winding 3 are wound around an iron core 5. A main insulating layer 1, around which tape- or sheet- shaped mica, synthetic film, and the like are wound, is intervened between the windings and the core. After synthetic resin such as epoxy resin and the like is impregnated, an outer insulating layer 4 is formed, and an mold is formed. In this constitution, an electric-field reducing layer 1a having voltage-nonlinear resistance characteristics is provided on the surface of the main insulating layer 1 for at least one winding. Said reducing layer 1a is formed by applying high-resistance paint comprising silicon-carbide powder and a bonding ageant. Since the resistance at a portion of the later layer 1a to which a high electric field is applied is small and the resistance at a portion to which a low electric field is applied is high, the electric- field intensity between the layers 1 and 4 becomes moderate, thereby partial discharge is avoided.
