Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain a high purity acetylene carboxylic acids with a high yield, by extracting acetylene carboxylic acids obtained by carrying out anodic oxidation of acetylene alcohols in sulfuric acid water solution by the solvent having comparatively low boiling point.
CONSTITUTION: Anodic oxidation is carried out by using electrolytic cell separated lead peroxide-lead anode and lead anode by the diaphragm, such as unglazed porcelain material etc. and adding sulfuric acid water solution of acetylene alcohols to the anode room and sulfuric acid water solution to the cathode room. On this occasion, reaction temperature is -5W10°C, preferably 0W5°C and voltage between both electrodes is 2.0W5.0 V and also, current density is 1.0W3.0 A/dm2 preferably. The sulfuric acid water solution containing produced acetylene carboxylic acids (for example; propiolic acid), is extracted by methyl acetate and/or ethyl acetate after finishing anodic oxidation reaction and the above extraction solvent is distilled from the extracting solution and then, acetylene carboxylic acids are separated and recovered.
