Abstract

PURPOSE: To reclaim a sublimable substance from a crude raw material containing particulate contaminants, e.g. oil, perfume, dust, etc., in high purity and at low cost, labor and energy consumption, by steam distillation followed by thermal treatment at a specific temp.
CONSTITUTION: Steam from a boiler 1 is led into a steam distillation tower 5, which contains a crude sublimable material contaminated with e.g. oil, perfume, dust etc. and left to be discarded so far (e.g. crude naphthalene, p-dichlorobenzene, etc.), through a tube 4, and the sublimable material is subjected to steam distillation. Then the azeotropic mixture is led into a distillate tank 7 (furnished with heating pipes from the bottom to 2/3 of the height) through a tube 6 and treated at 70W100°C. The steam from the boiler 1 is used as the heat source. The pure reclaimed substance free from water and the contaminants is taken out from the exit 11; and water containing said contaminants from the exit 10.
