Abstract

PURPOSE: A yellow luminescent fluorescent substance capable of forming high brightness even through excitation by low velocity electron rays, obtained by blending a specific yellow luminescent fluorescent substance with an electrically-conductive metallic oxide (sulfide) in a specified ratio.
CONSTITUTION: A) An electrically-conductive metallic oxide (sulfide), e.g., In2O3 or CdS, is blended with B) copper-doped zinc seleride sulfide fluorescent substance shown by the formula Zn(S1-a, Sea: Cu (0.05≤a≤0.6) in a weight ratio of A) to B) of 1:99W9:1. Conductive metallic sulfide (oxide) particles having a median of about 2.5W14 μ and a standard variation of about not more than 0.7 may be preferably cited as the metallic oxide (sulfide) A. Copper-and aluminum- doped zinc selenide sulfide fluorescent substance shown by the formula [Zn(S1-b, Seb: Cu, Al (0.05≤b≤0.6] and siliver-doped zinc selenide sulfide fluorescent substance [(Zn1-c, Cdc)S:Ag, (0.5<c≤0.7)] besides the substance B may be used as the fluorescent substance.
