Abstract

PURPOSE: A fluorescent material emitting a multi-color light with high luminance and good color purity by low-speed electron beam excitation, which is obtd. by mixing a europium-activated fluorescent material, a ehromiun-activated fluorescent material and an oxide-base electrically conductive material.
CONSTITUTION: A fluorescent material (A) of formulaIobtd. by mixing yttrium oxide with a predetermined amt.of europium oxide, sulfur etc., followed by firing and a fluorescent material (B) of formula II (wherein A is Zn or Cd; B is Al or Ga) are mixed in a wt.ratio of 1/9W9/1, and then compounded with an oxide- base electrically conductive material (C) such as an In2O3 powder doped with Sn or SnO2 doped with Sb, to obtain the purpose luminescent material. It is possible to arbitrarily vary the color of emitted light from the obtd. luminescent material in the range from reddish orange to red by varying the proportion of components A and B.
