Abstract

PURPOSE: To considerably lower weld defect and improve weld work efficiency by judging the wastage of the electrode with a monitor which makes use of current waveforms.
CONSTITUTION: Current is digitized by an input circuit 1 and is stored in a memory circuit 2. Next, the value of each position of the stored current waveform is sent subsequently to an arithmetic circuit 3. In the arithmetic circuit 3, the mean difference ΔX of the value X of each position and the values X1, X2 befoer and behind this is obtained. Further this ΔX and the preset value ΔXs is compared. This operation is performed with the values of all positions. In a judgement circuit 4, ΔX and ΔXs are compared and the number which becomes ΔX≥ΔXs is counted and at the same time the maximum value of ΔX is obtained. From said count value and maximum value, the wastage of the electrode is judged. The electrode is exchanged based on the result of judgement.
