Abstract

PURPOSE:To facilitate detection of trouble caused particularly in a small-sized diesel engine, by threading bolts incorporating an electric sensor element in their head portion into various portions of engine where inspection and measurement is to be made. CONSTITUTION:At the bolt head, there is formed a recess having a size capable of receiving sensor element 2, which serves as housing for receiving the sensor element 2. A sensor element 2 is put in the housing 1 and fixed therein by filling synthetic resin into the recess. A plurality of such bolts are fixed, by use of existing threaded holes, at portions of engine body 6, metal 10 for combining delivery pipes 8 connecting fuel injection pump 7 and injection nozzles 9, flywheel or crank pulley, exhaust or intake manifold, etc. Then, cords 3 for transmitting output of the sensor elements 2 are connected to inspecting and measuring apparatus 11 by use of connector 5.
