Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable the accurate detection of a change in combustion, by providing a combustion pressure sensor in some cylinders of an internal combustion engine and by detecting a change in the number of revolutions. CONSTITUTION:Gear members 24 and 26 for detecting the number of revolutions are fixed on a distribution shaft 20a, magnetic sensors 28 and 30 are provided oppositely to the members 24 and 26, and a pulse signal corresponding to the revolution of a crank shaft connected to the shaft 20a is generated. A combustion pressure sensor 34 is provided in a combustion chamber 11 of some of four cylinders of an internal combustion engine, and an effective compression work at a compression stroke can be known from a combustion pressure. Besides, a suction pipe pressure sensor 32 is provided in a suction pipe 12, and a suction pipe pressure being a value equivalent to a load on the internal combustion engine can be known therefrom. Moreover, a control circuit 40 is constructed as a microcomputer system and executes a control on an air-fuel ratio. In this way, a change in combustion can be detected accurately.
