Abstract
PURPOSE: To make unnecessary the calibration of actual flow, by reducing the drift, through the production of vacuum gap in the flow pass by using the ultrasonic waves and through the direct measurement of flow speed of fluid by the detection of passage of vacuum air voids.
CONSTITUTION: The ultrasonic wave oscillator 12 is provided in the pipe 11, and the first and second electrodes 13, 14 are placed with a given distance toward the flow direction at the pipe 11 of the down stream. This vacuum void moves in response to the flow of fluid and the passage is detected at the electrodes 13 and 14. Further, the flow can be measured by the time difference passing through the electrodes 13 and 14 and the distance between the electrodes. Thus, the flow speed is directly measured and correct flow measurement can always be made.
