Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a ballast stabilizer that is not ignited and is not damaged by fires, by forming a coil by winding an electric wire insulation coated by the first and second low melting-point insulating materials without putting layer paper, and by insulation covering a ballast stabilizer body with solventless varnish.
CONSTITUTION: An electric wire 6 wound on a bobbin 1 is constituted by copper wire, the first low melting-point insulating material coated around the copper wire and the second low melting-point insulating material, which mechanical strength is high and which has an excellent sliding property. The electric wire 6 is wound on the bobbin 1 without putting layer paper, and insulating materials 8, such as, a polyester film, etc. are wound on the outer circumference, thus forming a coil 9. A ballast stabilizer body 11 is made up by installing the coil 9 to a core 10, and a solventless varnish layer 12 is coated around the ballast stabilizer body 11. Thus, body 11 itself is not ignited and is not damaged by fires because the first and second low melting-point insulating materials melt at low temperatures by temperature rise, layer short-circuit suddenly expands and the coil is down when the insulating materials deteriorate.
