Abstract
PURPOSE:To perform the optimum control of deflection and to use the device for charge phase retrieval in common by compensating a change of deflection, which is caused by a change of the viscosity of ink, by means of a signal from the deflection detecting electrode that consists of three combined charge detecting electrodes. CONSTITUTION:The deflection detecting electrode is composed of an electrode 61 that detects a particle with a proper quantity of deflection and other two ones 62, 63 that form a gap which passes only a particle with a proper quantity of deflection to detect the fact that the quantity of deflection is greater or less than the reference value. The level setting circuit 28 that sets a level of the charge voltage level regulator circuit 27 is operated by outputs of the integrating circuits 23 connected to the respective electrodes to compensate the charge voltage, and the quantity of deflection caused by a change of the viscosity of ink is compensated. The phase control can also be performed by an output of the deflection detecting electrode at the same time.
