Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent a superconductive coil from moving and getting deformation by preliminarily providing the coil with a compressive force in the axial direction equal to or greater than the electromechanical compressive force caused by the exciting current in the coil. CONSTITUTION:The spool 4 is fixed at one end with a flange 5 and at the other end temporarily with a slide flange having a slide portion 7 at the side of the spool 4. The supercondictive coil 2 is wound between these flanges 5, 6. Through the flange 6, the wound coil 6 is applied with a compressive force in the axial direction equal to or greater than the maximum accumulated electromechanical force generated in the coil 2. Keeping the coil 2 in a contracted condition this way, the slide portion 7 of the flange 6 is fixed by welding. As a result, no separation occurs to the spool 4 and the coil 2, and so an exciting current close to the critical current is allowed to pass through the coil 2.
