Abstract

PURPOSE:To deflect supersonic beams with a simple configuration by calculating the delay time of each vibrator element based on delay time which corresponds to the deflection angle of the arbitrary vibrator element of array form plural vibrator elements. CONSTITUTION:If an address corresponding to the desired deflection angle of a memory element 1 is specified by a main counter 2, delay time Tn stored corresponding to the selected deflection angle of the nth element of plural supersonic vibrator elements arranged at equal intervals in an array form stored in the element 1 is read and applied to an operating circuit 6. The circuit 6 consists of an addition circuit and a latch circuit and presets delay time values Tn/(n-1), 2XTn/(n-1), ... to preset counters CT1, CT2, ... which correspond to the 1, 2, ... th vibrator elements sequentially synchronized with clock pulses CP1. By so doing, supersonic beams can be deflected with a simple configuration which uses small capacity memory elements.
