Abstract

PURPOSE:To increase the recording speed by maintaining the size of the recording dots following the suspension of operation the same as that during the continuous recording by giving the pressure chamber a predeformation. CONSTITUTION:Since there is a quiescent time in the section d where a discharge transistor 15 is in action, as a piezoelectric element voltage B rises, the piezo-electric element 11 is deformed slowly. When the subsequent printing command turns on drive transistor 12, the piezoelectric element 11 changes in the voltage by a value V2 thereby causing a mechanical deformation. Because of V1>V2, the deformation of the pressure chamber is apparently lessened after the quiescent time, which compensates for an increase in the ink diameter usually as seen following the quiescent time. The proper choice or proper value of the bias resistances 13 and 14 enables precise cancelation of the change in the size of the recording dots according to the length of the quiescent time. In this manner, the size of the recording dots after the quiescent time can be adjusted by giving the pressure chamber the predeformation allowed for the quiescent time.
