Abstract

PURPOSE: To increase a cooling effect by making heated oil that has flowed from the top of a cooling tank go up through a radiating pipe installed vertically so as to increase the difference in pressure of a connecting pipe at one end and increase the speed of convection therein.
CONSTITUTION: Heated oil that flows from the upper part of a transformer tank 1 containing the winding and iron core of the transformer is made to flow into a common oil channel 5 connected to the upper connecting pipe 3, 3' nearly horizontally. Further the heated oil that has passed through the common oil channel 5 is distributed to a group of panels 4 installed nearly vertically, and it is turned to be cold oil while it is passing through the panels 4, radiating heat to the open air. When the density of the oil becomes largest, the oil is collected in the common oil channel 5' that run above the panels nearly horizontally, and it is made to circulate through the lower connecting pipe 6, 6' so that it reaches the lower portion of the tank. As a result, the cooling effect is increased because of increasing difference in pressure between the connecting pipe 3, 3' and that 6, 6', and the increasing speed of oil convection.
