Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce the repairing cost and to shorten the repairing process for a blast furnace, by carrying portions of the large bell and the iron shell to the outside of the furnace by hanging them by means of a crane attached to the raw material charging apparatus through an opening made in the lower part of the shell, and by constructing the blast furnace after completion of the dismantling by carrying in the construction material through the opening.
CONSTITUTION: A crane 4 is mounted on the lower part of the raw material charging apparatus 1, which is held without being dismounted, especially on the inside of a gas-seal metal fitting, while an opening 5 is made in the iron shell near the furnace bottom. Then the large bell and the iron shell are dismounted and these dismounted materials are hung down by means of the crane 4 and taken out through the opening 5. After the completion of dimounting and removal, the large bell is first mounted, then the iron shell is constructed in order from the lower part, and a stave 9 is mounted and fire bricks are laid.
