Abstract
PURPOSE: To add additive metal surely and evenly in molten steel by blowing the metal in powder form together with inert gas into the molten steel with an immersion lance at the time of adding the metal to the molten steel.
CONSTITUTION: A lance 7 is dipped in the molten steel 2 in a ladle 1 and the additive metal A having been ground to 45 mesh or under is blown together with inert gas G such as Ar gas or the like through the lance 7. In this case, the inside diameter of the end part 7B of the lance 7 is made 10mm or under and the mixing ratio of the metal powder and Ar gas is of the shape of mixed phase fluid so as to become 8.0 to 30.0kg/Nm3. The molten steel 2 is stirred with the Ar gas and the metal powder A is evenly dispersed and melted in the molten steel. Hence, the additive metal powder A is utilized with good yield and the hydrogen contained in the molten steel 2 is discharged by becoming bubbles, thus hydrogen brittleness may be prevented.
