Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide the plate superior durability and repetitive characteristics by providing the layer of charge-generating material and the charge-transfer material composed of the specific compound having heterocyclic groups on a conductive substrate.
CONSTITUTION: The solution comprising dissolving charge-generating material in a solvent is coated on a conductive substrate and is then dried, whereby the film of the charge-generating material is formed. On this is then coated the solution comprising dissolving the compound having a kind of heterocyclic groups expressed by the formula (Y is O or S, R is lower alkyl groups; heterocyclic groups may be substituted. n is 0, 1 or 2, Ar is phenyl groups or substituted phenyl groups) and suitable binders, etc. in a solvent, followed by drying, whereby the layer of the charge- transfer material is formed. Or covering said layer by using the coating solution composed of the mixture of the charge-generating material and charge-transfer material is equally well. This composite type electrophotographic plate has a uniform coating film surface and is adapted to many apparatus such as copying apparatus, printers, display elements, printing orignal plates, etc.
