Abstract

PURPOSE: To maintain samples under reaction at an essentially constant temperature using a simple structure by a method wherein a constant temperature liquid is allowed to flow in the direction nearly perpendicularly to the movement of the group of reaction container in a constant temperature bath.
CONSTITUTION: The body of the constant temperature bath 15 has a shape elongated in the direction of movement A of reaction holder 12. A constant temperature liquid S flows in the bath 15 in the direction of B→C which is at right angle to the direction A. This allows the liquid S controlled to a constant temperature to pass the constant temperature bath 15 in a nearly shortest distance. This controls the changes in temperature distribution of the liquid S to a minimum degree. Thus, the uniformity of the temperature distribution of the bath 15 is enhanced, providing well- controlled constant temperature to the reaction container group 11.
