Abstract

Apparatus for cell electrophoresis comprising a measuring chamber (3) having an inlet (4) and outlet (5) by means of which, in use, electrolyte may be fed continuously through the measuring chamber, an electrode (6) associated with the chamber and a partition wall (2) past which, in use, sample fluid to be analysed is fed. In a preferred embodiment, the electrode is located in an extension (7) of the measuring chamber which is positioned so that any bubbles which, in use, form on the electrode cannot reach the partition wall. In another preferred embodiment, the outlet duct from the measuring chamber is upwardly inclined relative to the partition wall and includes an overflow chamber vented to atmosphere. <IMAGE>
