Abstract

PURPOSE: To make possible accurately focussed photographing through auto focus adjustment even when the main subject does not exist in the central part in the finder by moving the measuring position setting member to the position where the main subject exists by means of an external operating member.
CONSTITUTION: A measuring position setting member 14 is slidably provided to the incident part of the illuminating window 13 provided in adjacency to the objective lens 12 of the finder optical system. The member 14 is formed with a measuring range setting mask 15 which displays the measuring range A in the visual field B of the finder and the focus-detecting masks 16, 17 which enter light to the mirrors 2, 5 of a focus detector 1. The measuring range setting mask 15 reflects the light to the half mirror 19 of the finder optical path through the reflecting mirror 18 so that the state of the measuring range setting mask 15 is visible in the visual field B through an eyepiece lens 20. The member 14 is interlocked to the operating lever provided on the outside of the camera. When the member 14 is moved in the arrow direction by this lever to set the mask 15 to the main subject C, then the masks 16, 17 also move and the focus detector 1 measures the distance by the light from the C.
