Abstract

PURPOSE: To effect automatic focusing operation of high accuracy with the use of a simple construction by forming a reflecting portion at an inclination in a portion of a focusing plate.
CONSTITUTION: An inclined portion 29 is formed at the center of a focusing plate 26 for totally reflecting and focusing the taking light from a taking lens 22, which is removably mounted to a camera body 21, with the use of a movable mirror 25 which is disposed in front of a shutter 23 and a film plane 24. A range finding light receiving element 30 is mounted on the camera body 21 in front of a pentagonal prism 27. And, the taking light is partially reflected in a consecutive manner upon the semitransparent portion 29 and the movable mirror 25 and then is focused through a relay lens 31 upon the element 30 thereby to accomplish the focusing operation. Thus, the range finding optical path can be sufficiently elongated without increasing the size of the camera as a whole, and the range finding flux of light is generated from the focusing plate 26, thus attaining the desired purposes.
