Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide a highly accurate and miniature device of easy adjustment by providing the focus detector including an auxiliary optical system retractably from the photographing optical path in the specified position before the focal plane shutter.
CONSTITUTION: The photo detecting face 7 of a focus detector 6 which is installed before a focal plane shutter 5 and is provided with an auxiliary optical system 8 is placed in the position conjugate with the film plane 4. When the focusing is detected through comparison of the contrast of the incident light of the face 4 from the photographing lens system 1 by a photo detector is detected, the subject image is formed on the plane 4. The installation of this plane 7 near the plane 4 reduces the difference of the distance between the face 4 and lens system 9 and the distance between the lens system 9 and face 4, as a result of which the lens system 9 becomes longer in its focal length and smaller in aperture and becomes the one of small aberrations, easy adjustment and a small size. Hence, the device 6 is made retractable from the photographing optical path by turning the device 6 in cooperation with the movement of the shutter 5.
