Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a combustion furnace capable of stabilized incineration at high combustion efficiency by so constructing the mechanism that the plastic melt in the preliminary melting zone is dropped into a vortex flow from a chute and burned. CONSTITUTION:When the material to be incinerated such as waste plastic is supplied to feed port 13 by a transfer means such as piston 29, feed port 13 is closed by the plastic, etc., and the plastic is exposed to hot air at the preliminary melting zone 16, whereby said plastic is heated at its surface and grudually melted and the melt runs down along chute 15 into combustion chamber 12. As combustion chamber 12 is heated by burner 18 and a vortex gas flow is formed therein by air blown from air feed port 22, the plastic melt drops into said vortex flow and is perfectly mixed with air and burned while dropping in combustion chamber 12. Even if unburned plastic material should drop on the bottom section, it is burned by air supplied from air feed port 22 provided close to the lower hearth.
