Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable reduction in the size while minimizing noize and vibration with less drive energy per one impact by means of a drive element for giving self-resonant vibration being mounted on the arm member supporting the hammer section. CONSTITUTION:While a pressure-sensitive paper is fed at a constant speed with a feed roller 1, a pulse-like AC signal is applied by an envelop across terminal 101 and 102. Consequently, for example, when a piezoelectric element is used for the drive element 10, the element varies in the thickness facing between the electrodes to give vibration to arm members 9. If one of the members resonate to the frequency of the AC signal applied, the arm begins to vibrate at the amplitude several to several scores times as large as that of the drive element 10 whereby the hammer at the tip gives a strong impact on the paper to effect a printing. The respective arm members are made in varied resonant frequencies so that the drive signals are allowed to be selectively applied according to the desired arm members.
