Abstract

PURPOSE: To simplify the automatic tracking of the subject by calculating the center of the area of only the subject through detection of the difference of brightness between the subject and the background and then aiming the TV camera at the subject center via the calculated control signal.
CONSTITUTION: TV camera 1 is installed on pan-tilt stage 2 and then controlled by servo amplifiers 25 and 26 to be deflected vertically and horizontally. Slicers 6 and LPF7 detect that the brightness and the area of the subject have reached the prescribed levels. On the other hand, horizontal synchronous isolator circuits 10 and 11 are connected to the output side of base clamping circuit 4, and the area center of the subject is detected by the signal in which only the horizontal and vertical synchronous signals are isolated individually. With this detection signal, amplifiers 25 and 26 are controlled, and thus the coincidence is secured in a follow-up way between the area center of the subject and the image center on the screen which are caused by the shift of the TV camera.
