Abstract
PURPOSE:To inspect the thickness of a tablet with high precision and at low cost by photographing the head or tail of a tablet by a TV camera and processing the obtained image pickup signal during one horizontal scanning period. CONSTITUTION:A signal obtained by photographing a tablet 12 by a TV camera 1 right over it is amplified by an amplifying circuit 2 and applied to one terminal of a differential amplifying circuit 4 and a delay circuit 3, a signal from which is applied to the other terminal of the circuit 4. Then, the circuit 4 finds a difference between both inputs to perform the 1st delay differentiation. The resulting signal is applied to one terminal of a differential amplifying circuit 6 and a delay circuit, a signal from which is applied to the other terminal of the circuit 6. Further, the circuit 6 calculates ther difference to perform the 2nd delay differentiation. The resulting signal is compared with a reference level from a setting circuit by a comparing circuit 8, whose output signal is applied to an FF9 and one terminal of an AND circuit 10. The output signal of the FF9 is applied to the other terminal of the AND circuit 10 to AND both the inputs, thereby discriminating between a normal table and a half one on the basis of an output appearing at a terminal 11.
