Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain the title polymer capable of retaining the secretion promotion action of thyrotropic hormone in vivo for a long time, by reacting a high polymer having at least one amino group with an ω-thyroliberyl-alkanoic acid (derivative).
CONSTITUTION: (A) A natural high polymer, e.g. polysaccharide or protein, a synthetic high polymer, e.g. polyamide, polyvinyl compound, or polyether, such as a condensate of agarose and hexamethylenediamine having at least one amino group, is reacted with (B) about 1W3 equivalents per equivalent of free amino group in (A) of an ω-thyroliberyl-alkanoic acid of formula I: (PCA-His-Pro- is pyroglutamylhistidylprolyl group; n is an integer 1W12) or its reactive derivative to give a high polymer having at least one residue of formula II.
