Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain the small-size converter which is difficult to receive electromagnetical faults by converting continuous revolution to intermittent revolutions, stepwise driving plural code-generating rotary discs at the specified ratios and transmitting the light having transmitted through the code holes by way of optical fibers. CONSTITUTION:The continuous turning of a revolving shaft 1 is transmitted to an output shaft 3 by way of a drive ring 23 which is provided with a hole 24 to be fitted with a pin 22, a stationary magnetic pole 26 for stoppoing and opposing protrusions 25... of opposite magnetic polarities. Here, the drive ring 23 is turned rapidly by the suction of the protrusion 25 and magnetic pole 26, by which the continuous turning of the shaft 1 is converted to intermittent revolutions which are then transmitted to the shaft 3. The turning of the code-generating rotary disc 41 turning together with this shaft 3 is transmitted to the code-generating rotary discs 42, 43 turnable to the shaft 3 by way of gears 44, 45 and a plurality of similar rotary discs 41-43 on the same axis turn at the specified ratios in correspondence to digits. The rays transmitting the code holes of these rotary discs 41-43 are transmitted and received thrugh optical fibers 71, 71', 72, 73', 73, etc. and the signals having undergone A/D conversion are generated from a signal processing unit 8 with the small size consitution which is hard to receive electromagnetical faults.
