Abstract
PURPOSE: To utilize a waste soybean broth effectively and to promote the growth of mushrooms, by culturing mushrooms, e.g. shiitake or agaric, in a medium obtained from a mixture of a waste liquor comprising the waste broth alone and, if necessary, a preservation stabilizer, with a culture base.
CONSTITUTION: A waste soybean broth containing a nutrient for microorganisms, e.g. sucrose, phosphorus, or nitrogen compounds, discharged from miso and soy sauce manufacturing factories, is incorporated with an antifungal substance, e.g. Benomyl, Thiabendazole, or methyl 2-benzimidazole-carbamate hydrochloride and an antibacterial or an antibiotic to improve the preservation stability, and used as a growth promotor of mushrooms. A given amount of the waste soybean broth is added to a culture base, which is prepared by shredding wood, e.g. Japanese beech, oak (kunugi), or grain wastes, e.g. rice or wheat straws, or chaff, to give a medium. Agarics, enokidake, shiitakes, or nameko are cultured in the medium thus obtained with promoted growth.
