Abstract

PURPOSE:To set pressing force as desired and stabilize the quality of press working by controlling the pressing force of the pressing device through detection of the load current of the electric motor. CONSTITUTION:As a motor 18 is started, a ram 17 descends. When the load current reaches the preset value upon increasing of the pressing force of the press, the power supply to the motor 18 is cut off and the descending of the ram 17 stops under the pressing force corresponding to the preset current. Upon lapse of the preset time, the motor 18 is run reverse to let the ram 17 rise. When the ram 17 reaches the ascending end, a limit switch 19 is turned OFF and 1-cycle operation of the press ends. This control method prevents the burn of the electric motor 18 and mechanical parts.
