Abstract

1430890 Adjusting tool of press ram L SCHULER GmbH 18 July 1974 [28 July 1973] 31886/74 Heading H2J Apparatus for adjusting the vertical position of a tool of the ram of a press comprises an electric motor in series with a supply switch which is actuated manually and which opens automatically in response to the speed of the motor dropping owing to engagement of the upper and lower tools of the press. As shown, a motor 2 drives the tool 3 into position and a tachogenerator 4 supplies a signal to a reversing stage 5 and an amplifier 6 and thence to a coil 7 of an electromagnetically operated switch 1, the core 8 of which operates the switch contacts. Operating knob 9 is used to start the adjustment and when the tachogenerator output falls significantly, the reversing stage 5 passes a current to coil 7 to open switch 1.
