Abstract

PURPOSE:To seal the inner burrs formed during friction into the circumferential groove by providing a truncated-cone-form taper part to the end part of the journal and friction-bonding the same to the roller body from the baffle plate part side provided to the small-diameter end face thereof by way of the circumferential groove part. CONSTITUTION:A truncated-cone-form taper part 4 is beforehand provided to a journal 2 and a shaft part 5 is protrusively provided to the large-diameter end face thereof. Its small-diameter end face is connected with a baffle plate part 7 which matches the inside diameter of a hollow roller body 1 by way of a circumferential groove part 6. The small-diameter end face and large-diameter end face of the tapered part 4 are formed to the diameters conforming to the inside and outside diameters of the roller body 1, respectively. A center hole 9 is drilled to the end of the shaft part 5. This journal 2 is pressed from the baffle plate part 7 side to the end part of the hollow roller 1 and these are bonded through heating by friction at the circumferential face of the tapered part. Here, inner burrs 14 and outer burrs 15 are formed on the inner and outer sides of the friction contact face 12 but the peeled inner burrs 14 out of these are prevented from entering the inside of the hollow part 20 of the roller body 1 by the baffle plate 7 and are confined in the circumferential groove part 6. Entering of the inner burrs into the hollow part and the production of noise owing to revolution are obviated.
