Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the inertial mass at the time of engine acceleration and improve the use of energy, by dividing the inner space of a hollow flywheel into several chambers by means of partition plates, curved from their normal toward the direction of rotation, and filling the chambers with fluid. CONSTITUTION:The inner space of a hollow flywheel 1 is divided by partition plates 3 which are bent counterclockwise from the center axis 2 toward the periphery. The chambers 4 thus formed are filled with fluid 5 by 1/3 of their volume. The fluid 5 drawn near the periphery of the flywheel 1 due to centrifugal force while the flywheel is turnig at a constant speed, and the inertial moment of the flywheel increases. In case of acceleration, the fluid 5 receives due to inertia a force opposite to the turning direction of the flywheel and moves toward the axis 2, which reduces the inertial moment and minimizes the energy loss.
