Abstract
PURPOSE:To make moment of inertia arbitrarily controllable by utilizing fluid as a part of inertia body. CONSTITUTION:The revolution axes 2a and 2b of a hollow drum 6 equipped with fluid injecting and discharging valves 8a and 8b are supported in free revolution by bearings 3a and 3b, and the revolution axis 2b is connected with a driving machine 5 through joints 4a and 4b. Thus, fluid 7 is injected or discharged from the hollow drum 6 through fluid injecting and discharging valves 8a and 8b, and after the amount of the fluid 7 is the hollow drum 6 is controlled, the hollow drum 6 is revolved as a flywheel, then the fluid 7 is shifted in a ring form to the periphery of the drum by a centrifugal force, and a moment of inertial decided according to the amount of the fluid 7 is given. When baffle plates 12 are arranged in the hollow drum 6, the decrease of the moment of inertia in acceleration and deceleration is reduced.
