Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a sealing parts with enhanced chemically and mechanically bonding strength between glass and metal by forming a metal layer of a specified thickness having a great affinity for glass on the surface.
CONSTITUTION: Corrosion resistant metal case 1 having a heat expansion coefficient higher than that of glass and sealing metal 2 having a heat expansion coefficient equal to that of glass are plated with metal 5 all over. On the surface of the resulting sealing part, 2W5μ thick metal layer 6 having a great affinity for glass is coated by chemical plating, electroplating, sputtering, ion plating, vacuum deposition or dipping to form alloy layer 7 having gentle surface unevenness 9 on the sealing interface between case 1 and layer 6. At the same time, glass-metal intermediate layer 8 combined with oxygen in sealing glass 3 and having gentle surface unevenness 9 is formed on the interface between glass 3 and layer 6, thus strengthening chemical and mechanical bonding.
