Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a cell which is excellent in storing characteristics and also exchangeable with a silver oxide cell, etc., by adding a small amount of cuprous oxide in the positive pole of a non-aqueous electrolyte cell using cupric oxide as a positive polar active substance. CONSTITUTION:A 1.5V non-aqueous electrolyte cell exchangeable with a silver oxide cell or a mercury cell and using lithium as a negative polar active substance and cuprous oxide as a positive polar active substance is prepared. A small amount of cuprous oxide is added to the positive pole mixture of the cell, whereby its self- discharge is suppressed and also its storing characteristic can be improved. The preferred amount of the cuprous oxide to add is 10% or less.
