CONSTITUTION:A 1.5V non-aqueous electrolyte cell exchangeable with a silver oxide cell or a mercury cell and using lithium as a negative polar active substance and cuprous oxide as a positive polar active substance is prepared. A small amount of cuprous oxide is added to the positive pole mixture of the cell, whereby its self- discharge is suppressed and also its storing characteristic can be improved. The preferred amount of the cuprous oxide to add is 10% or less.
