Abstract

PURPOSE:To obviate the discharge which will occur at the time when paper detaches from a back bar and prevent the electrostatic latent images formed from being broken by discharge by so arranging the device that plain paper is contacted to the support for supporting the back bar and is fed up to a developing means. CONSTITUTION:In the electrostatic printer comprising directly depositing the ions generated through corona discharging on plain paper to form electrostatic latent images and converting these electrostatic latent images to sensible images by a developing means then fixing the same, printing paper 1 passes on the peripheral surface of a paper support 14 made of aluminum by way of a heat drum 2 and passes through a cathode 9 and developing device 11 while it is moving in close contact with the peripheral surface of the paper support 14. Hence, the paper does not detach from the paper support during the time after deposition of ions up to development and therefore no discharging occurs between the paper 1 and support 14.
