Abstract

PURPOSE:To enlarge a pressure contact area between a pressing roller and a belt, to enhance toner image fixing efficiency, and to prevent the toner image from remaining on a charge retaining drum, by using the belt as an intermediate transfer material, and providing an auxiliary roller at the inside of this belt. CONSTITUTION:A toner image formed on charge retaining drum 1 using a photoconductor as a photosensitive layer is transferred and fixed to transfer paper 10 by pressure and heat using transfer belt 5 wound around pressing roller 4. Heating roller 8 and auxiliary roller 12 comparatively near the roller 8 are provided at the inside of the transfer belt 5, thus permitting the area of pressing roller 9 covered with transfer belt 5 held with rollers 8, 12 to be enlarged, fixing to be effectively carried out by melting the toner image, and fixing speed to be raised.
