Abstract

PURPOSE: To easily and economically restore the water seal function of a spherical valve, by fitting a valve seat inside out.
CONSTITUTION: When liquid pressure P1 acts on the right side of a projection T of a seal ring 1 housed in a valve casing 3, the ring 1 is moved leftward and tightly fitted on the contact surface C1 of a valve seat 5. The flow W1 of water is stopped by the tightly fitted surface C1 to fulfill the water seal function of a spherical valve. When the surface C1 of the valve seat 5 is damaged, the water flows out through the damaged part, namely, the water seal function is lost. At such time, the valve seat 5 is fitted inside out on a valve body 2 so that the surfaces C1, C2 of the valve seat 5 are replaced by each other and the water seal function is restored. If the valve seat 5 is split into a plurality of parts, it can be conveniently fitted inside out. If a dimension l1 is equal to another l2, the valve seat can be more tightly fitted.
