CONSTITUTION: The pressure P of the water in the piping acts on the incoming part i of the packing groove 25 through gaps G1, G2 as well as on the back j of the main packing 17 through an introducing hole 32 and an introducing gutter 31. The main packing 17 is given chiefly a component force K2 directed from the mid-point between i and j toward the outlet h of the packing groove, that enables to follow up fully the movement og the short tube 16 and the gap G2. Consequently, the water checking forces at the contact points e and g of the main packing 17 with the short tube's 16 outer side and No. 2 companion flange part, respectively, are increased. By the multiplying effect of these, checking of water at the h-part can be well attained.
