Abstract
PURPOSE: To accomplish automatic switching of filtering circuit and backwash circuit, by employing an arrangement that a valve body is shifted automatically by the pressure of fluid passed through the valve and also by the function of gravity of the valve body itself.
CONSTITUTION: In case of filtering water, water 1 to be filtered is pumped up by filtering pump 2 and flows into a first multi-directional check valve 3. By the water supplied into valve 3, check valve 4 in valve body 3 is urged onto valve seat 5, so that water 1 to be filtered is passed through pipe 7 and reaches filtering layer 8. Water 10 filtered by the filtering layer 8 is passed through pipe 11 and flows into a second multi-directional check valve 12 having the same structure as check valve 3, while urging valve element 13 onto valve seat 14 by the function of gravity difference, and then discharged to the outside through pipe 16. In case of backwash, on the other hand, backwash water 17 is pumped up by backwash pump 18 and flows into the second check valve 12 likewise as in the previous case. Then, water 17 is passed into pipe 11 while urging valve element 13 onto valve seat 15 and introduced into a lower portion of filtering layer 8.
