Abstract
PURPOSE:The immersion nozzle which comprises bonding the non-oxide base refractory material composed primarily of carbon and silicon carbide by an organic binder and which is capable of preventing alumina deposition on the inside surfaces of nozzle orifices, preventing solution loss owing to slag powder and performing multiple continuous casting of aluminum killed steel. CONSTITUTION:The non-oxide base refractory material comprising compounding, depending on cases, metal silicon, silicon nitride to the main component mixing carbon such as natural graphite, artificial graphite, carbon black or other and silicon carbide preferably at ratios of 30:70 to 70:30 is bound with an organic binder such as phenolic resins or other to form the immersion nozzle for continuous casting of aluminum killed steel.
